Multi-million drugs in transit seized in Ravensmead with an arrest

In the quest to rid the streets of Cape Town of drugs, members of the Provincial Integrated Team with Rapid Rail police pursued detailed information about the exchange of drugs on Saturday evening.

The team observed boxes being offloaded from one vehicle onto another. They pursued the vehicle with the consignment and stopped it on Robert Sobukwe Road in Ravensmead. After searching the vehicle the police discovered 75 000 mandrax tablets with an estimated value of R3 million. Information at the disposal of police indicates the drugs were destined for Johannesburg. A 29-year-old male was arrested. He is expected to appear in court on Monday, 12 April 2021 on charges of dealing in drugs.

The efforts of the team are commended by SAPS management for such a significant seizure.
