Building fire at the Old Woodstock Hospital leaves scores displaced.

Fortunately, no one sustained any injuries this evening when a fire broke out at the Old Woodstock Hospital in Woodstock, Western Cape.

ER24, Western Cape Fire, Metro Rescue and EMS, and other services arrived to find that a fire had broken out on the 3rd floor of the Old Woodstock Hospital. Numerous residents had evacuated the building and were now crowded along the sidewalk.

While the Fire Services battled the blaze, medics set up a triage area and began to assess the residents.

Fortunately, only one patient sustained moderate injuries. The patient was treated and transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

The Fire Services were able to extinguish the fire after a short time.

The details surrounding this incident are unknown, but the relevant authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
