In a relentless effort to fight Trio Crimes head-on in this Province, the Intelligent led Joint operations are still yielding positive results.

In the Tubatse Policing area outside Burgersfort, a sting joint operation composed of the Crime Intelligent and Crime prevention was conducted last night at Praktiseer area where three (03) suspects aged between 31 and 36 were arrested.

It is believed that this suspects are members of a crime syndicate which was terrorising the local communities especially businesses for some time.

This major breakthrough was achieved following a quality and reliable information received from members of the community after a business robbery which occurred on the 2017-12-23 at the local shop in Alverton outside Burgersfort.

During this operation, the following were confiscated:

* 03 x cars being a red Golf 7, white Mercedes Benz and a grey Vw Polo.

* 01 x 303 rifle.

* 01 x 9mm pistol and ammunition.

* House breaking equipment.

These suspects will appear before the Praktiseer Magistrate's Court soon on charges of possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition, possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles, possession of false registration number plates and business robberies.

They were also linked to a series of business robberies in and around the Mecklenburg and Drekop areas recently.

The Police investigations are still continuing.

The Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has applauded these hard working team of Police Officers who participated in this operation for the job well done.

“We believe that this milestone achievement will bring a relief to those affected communities especially the business community. A special message must be directed to all the criminals out there that, they can run but they can't hide until the long arm of the law catches on them,” concluded Lieutenant General Ledwaba.
