32 injured and another dead following a collision between a taxi and two cars on the N14

One man was killed and 32 others injured this afternoon following a collision between a minibus taxi and two light motor vehicles at the R511 and N14 Road intersection in Diepsloot.

ER24 paramedics, along with several other services, arrived on the scene at 13h03 to find the minibus on the side of the road while the two-light motor vehicles were found in the right-hand lane. Several people were found scattered around the scene.

Local authorities began to close off the road while paramedics set up a triage area.

On assessment, paramedics found that a man had sustained numerous injuries and showed no signs of life. Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

32 other patients were tended to on the scene, including two children. Assessments showed that their injuries ranged from minor to critical.

Paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured with advanced life support interventions.

Once treated, the patients were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
