Man injured in shooting and crash in Pinetown

A man in his forties has sustained serious injuries and his passenger minor injuries after it is alleged the vehicle they were in was shot at whilst travelling on the M13 Pietermaritzburg Bound before Richmond Road In Pinetown on Saturday evening around 9:30pm.

Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the vehicle on the top of the Armco barrier. The driver has sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was in a serious condition. He was stabilised on the scene by Paramedics together with his passenger before both were transported to a nearby Hospital for the further care that they required.

At this stage the events leading up to the shooting is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
