Rail Enforcement Unit on the beat for another year

The Rail Enforcement Unit has been deployed for another year to assist with the safety and security of rail commuters and infrastructure. 

The new memorandum of agreement between the City of Cape Town, the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), and the Western Cape Government demonstrates the collaborative spirit between the different spheres of government.

Tomorrow, 18 September 2019, the Minister of Transport and Public Works, Bonginkosi Madikizela; PRASA’s acting Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr Nkosinathi Sishi; and the City’s Mayoral Committee Members for Transport; and Safety and Security, Aldermans Felicity Purchase and JP Smith, will meet the new recruits during a parade at the Cape Town Station.

The event also comprises a train trip by Minister Madikizela from Athlone Station to Cape Town Station and the media is welcome to join.
