Driver injured in a collision in Canelands

Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the R102 at the entrance of Canelands, Verulam following multiple reports of a motor vehicle collision.

On arrival, a white 3.20i BMW was found facing oncoming traffic on the southbound lane. A white VW Polo TSI with extensive front end damage was in the center of the intersection.

The 23-year-old driver of the VW Polo suffered moderate injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The two occupants of the BMW were not injured. 

It is alleged that the BMW was stationary at the robots when the VW Polo collided into the back of it.
