Operation 'Vhuthu Hawe' in full swing at Tubatse

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba today supported the crime prevention operation "Vhuthu Hawe" which is currently sweeping off criminals activities across the province, led by the Provincial Operational Command Centre Brigadier Dikeledi Mangena.

Today's operation was taken to Tubatse in the Sekhukhune District and comprised of members from all level of command at the Police station and District level. The operation was conducted through various activities such as roadblocks, stop and searches and intensive patrols along the R37 road, Malls and informal settlement.

The Provincial Commissioner was also joined by the Acting Sekhukhune District Commissioner, Colonel Thiba. When addressing the parade, Brigadier Mangena encouraged all members to focus on their job at hand and to ensure that the community is safe and all offenders are brought to book.

The following successes were achieved:

01 × minibus was impounded for operating without valid permits.
1165 × people were searched.
01 Suspect arrested for dealing in dagga.
243 × motor vehicles were tested.
02 arrests for Disaster Management Act violation.
10 Vehicle checkpoints conducted 
13 × undocumented persons were arrested.
06 × summons were issued for the contravention of the Road Traffic Act to the value of R3000.00.
12 × J534 issued to the Value of R3500.00
The members further patrolled the Burgersfort CBD, focusing on hotspot areas.
