Calls for help flooded the control room at TrackBox from START Rescue.

06:50 TrackBox received a call for reports of a motor vehicle collision on the corner of Builders Way and Stonewell Road in Hillcrest. S.T.A.R.T controllers dispatched S.T.A.R.T members as well as S.T.A.R.T partner Netcare 911 to the incident. It was reported that there were no injuries and everyone involved refused hospital transportation.

10:05 TrackBox received reports of a Medical Emergency in the Drummond area, where it was reported that a 30-year-old patient was having continuous seizures. S.T.A.R.T controllers dispatched S.T.A.R.T. partner Netcare911 to the incident.

13:28 TrackBox received reports of a vehicle that had lost control on the N2 just past the Ballito/Compensation off-ramps causing the vehicle to roll over.
There were approximately 4 injured patients that could be seen by the passerby. S.T.A.R.T partner Netcare 911 was dispatched to the incident.

14:01 TrackBox received reports of a vehicle that had broken down going up Fields Hill. The vehicle had broken done in the fast lane on a blind corner. S.T.A.R.T controllers dispatched Metro Police to assist with an early warning to other motorists.

14:36 An urgent call for assistance was received in the Forest View area where it was reported that a near-drowning incident had occurred. S.T.A.R.T controllers immediately dispatched both 1st responders, the S.T.A.R.T medical team as well as S.T.A.R.T partner Netcare911 to the incident. On arrival, it was discovered that a 3-year-old boy had fallen into the pool. The mother found the child and immediately pulled the child from the water, and started screaming for help. Her screams alerted the neighbors who jumped into action.

Whilst on the scene, rescue personnel were informed that the mother had started rescue breaths followed shortly by the arrival of some local teenagers who took it upon themselves to assist. One young lady bravely took control of the scene and started life-saving CPR while sending her friend to call for help.

Her friend ran to one of the S.T.A.R.T 1st responder houses which were nearby. On arrival of the 1st Responder, the child had regained a pulse but was still having breathing difficulties soon after this assessment the S.T.A.R.T medical team arrived, and the treatment continued taking control of the young patient's airway.  Approx 10 mins after the arrival of the S.T.A.R.T medical team, an Emer-G-Med intermediate life support (ILS) ambulance arrived, and the patient was placed on further monitoring devices and prepared for further care which was put into place. Netcare911 advanced life support (ALS) arrived and further life-saving measures were introduced to treat the patient before being transported to the hospital.

The outcome of the particular incident would not have been possible without the quick thinking and assistance of the young ladies as well as the teamwork between S.T.A.R.T, Emer-G-Med, and Netcare 911 where the color of the uniform made no difference and there was one common goal to save the life of this young patient.
The young ladies who bravely reacted have been offered support and been put in touch with our internal councilors. We would really like to acknowledge these youngsters for acting so quickly and so bravely!

17:31 TrackBox received reports of a motor vehicle collision on the N3 near the Hammarsdale area. S.T.A.R.T controllers dispatched Metro Police, S.T.A.R.T 1st responders and S.T.A.R.T partner Netcare911 Rescue 2 to the incident.
