Road users cautioned about expected heavy traffic in the Western Cape

02 April 2024 | From Arrive Alive

We are expecting the roads to be busy today and tomorrow. Provincial Traffic officers are out in full force, patrolling the main routes, and stopping and checking drivers and vehicles. The priority is to make sure that everyone is safe on our roads.

So far, the majority of road deaths during the Easter weekend have been pedestrians.

We are asking drivers to please look out for pedestrians, don’t speed, don’t drink and drive, take rest breaks, and get everyone in your vehicle to buckle up.

Pedestrians, please don’t walk next to the road after drinking.

To everyone on the roads, please be patient and take care so we can all get safely home.

Message from Western Cape Minister of Mobility, Ricardo Mackenzie
