Man killed after driver of vehicle plunges over bridge in Tongaat

The driver of a white VW Polo was killed after his vehicle plunged over a bridge on Gopalall Hurbans Road in Maidstone, Tongaat - KZN.
The Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations Centre became inundated with calls for assistance from individuals who witnessed the incident. Reaction Officers were immediately dispatched and arrived on scene.
The white VW Polo was located on its roof next to an river approximately 50 meters below the bridge.
RUSA Members proceeded down an embankment and discovered one person in the vehicle. A cable from a tow truck was utilised to stabilise the car while Paramedics from a private ambulance, Reaction Officers and the public removed the male from the wreckage.
He suffered life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased.
Details leading up to the accident were not immediately established.
