12 January 2025 | From Arrive Alive

Sunday, 12 January 2025 @ 18:00 — ONE LANE in each direction is NOW OPEN to traffic. Motorists should continue to approach the area with caution as recovery and cleanup operations continue at the crash scene and congestion and delays should be expected.

N3 Weather Warning

Wet weather and/or misty conditions are currently being experienced along parts of the N3 Toll Route. Heavy mist on Van Reenen Pass is causing poor visibility, and it is raining between Warden and Frankfort in the Free State, including in the vicinity of the earlier crash near the Roadside/Reitz Interchange (Exit 107).

N3TC reminds road users to reduce speed, keep a safe following distance, and to switch their vehicles’ headlights on under these conditions. “Mist, rain, and wet roadways cause difficult driving conditions and an increased risk of drivers losing control of their vehicles,” explains Thania Dhoogra, chief operating officer of N3TC.

“Please share the road responsibly. Stay informed of route and traffic conditions between Cedara in KwaZulu-Natal and Heidelberg in Gauteng by following @N3Route on X. Report problems or obtain emergency assistance on the N3 Toll Route by contacting the 24-hour N3 Helpline on 0800 63 43 57. N3TC’s Route Services and their partners in the road incident management system (RIMS) are always on standby to support road users in distress,” ends Ms Dhoogra.

ENDS.
