Earlier this morning, just after 7 am, Mi7 National Group's Emergency Medical Services was dispatched after reports of a Motor Vehicle Accident in the Cato Ridge area.
Several teams, including ambulances based at Hibiscus Hospital Cato Ridge, were sent to the scene. Mi7 medics found that two vehicles, including a minivan carrying pupils to school, had collided. 11 occupants from both vehicles were injured.
When medics arrived, they found only one patient on the scene who required Advanced Life Support interventions before being taken to hospital. The rest were transported privately to a nearby clinic.
Medics went to the clinic to find nursing staff treating the patients. They assisted with treatment before transporting eight teens, aged between 14 and 18, to various hospitals for further treatment. Many of them required Advanced Life Support interventions.
We wish all those injured a successful recovery.
