Man dies following an attempted hijacking.

Chippendale, Newlands West – KZNVIP Protection Services can confirm that a tragic incident unfolded earlier this evening in the Chippendale area, resulting in the death of a male victim following an attempted hijacking.
At approximately 18:00pm, the KZNVIP Control Centre received multiple distress signals from the vicinity, accompanied by reports of gunfire. KZNVIP Reaction Units were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that four armed African male suspects in a white Toyota Etios sedan had attempted to hijack a vehicle near a local shop. It is believed that during the course of the attempted hijacking, and while fleeing the scene, the suspects fired multiple shots at the victim.
Despite the response of KZNVIP paramedics, the victim was found critically injured and unresponsive. Sadly, he showed no signs of life upon medical assessment and was declared deceased at the scene.
KZNVIP teams secured the area and the crime scene was subsequently handed over to the South African Police Service (SAPS) for further investigation.
