In the early hours of Sunday morning, Mi7’s Emergency Medical Services responded to a devastating single-vehicle accident on Eddie Hagen Drive in Cato Ridge.
An ambulance based at Hibiscus Hospital Cato Ridge, together with an Advanced Life Support (ALS) rapid response vehicle, was immediately dispatched following reports of a major crash.
On arrival, Mi7 EMS teams discovered a harrowing scene: a single vehicle had collided with a concrete structure on the roadside. Four occupants were found deceased, their bodies strewn across the road and surrounding verge.
A fifth occupant was found in critical condition but went into cardiac arrest at the scene. Despite intensive resuscitation efforts by Mi7 ALS paramedics, the patient was tragically declared deceased on site.
One surviving patient, who sustained minor injuries, was stabilised and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
We wish those injured a successful recovery and pass on our condolences to the loved ones of the deceased.
