AARTO IMPLEMENTATION

The President has signed Proclamations 272, 273, and 274 of 2025, published in the Government Gazette 53099 on 01 August 2025, implementing the phased national rollout of AARTO on the following dates:

PHASE 2 - 01 December 2025: AARTO Rollout to 69 Metropolitan and Local Municipal Areas.
PHASE 3 - 01 April 2026: AARTO Rollout to the remaining 144 Local Municipal Areas.
PHASE 4 - 01 September 2026: Implementation of the Points Demerit System (PDS) and the Rehabilitation Programme.

The Gazette with the lists of municipalities is available on the website of the Government Printing Works, or you are welcome to contact our office. 

The AARTO Regulations supporting the Act amendments have not been published yet. We will inform you as soon as they are published.

AARTO Workshops will be conducted by our office.
We will communicate the workshop dates to you once the new Regulations are published and we have compiled the updated course material. Delegates will receive the updated AARTO Act and Regulations.
