Female Mauled By Dogs: Tongaat - KZN

A 42-year-old female was mauled by two (2) dogs on Hercus Avenue in Belverdere, Tongaat - KZN today (Friday).
Residents contacted the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Tongaat Operations at approximately 15:14 requesting urgent medical assistance for the woman. On arrival, Paramedics discovered that the female sustained a fracture to her left arm. She also sustained a bite mark to her forearm.
It was established that the female arrived at the property to visit a friend who is a tenant. She opened the entrance gate and accessed the property. A male and female Bull Terrier cross charged at the woman and began mauling her. She fell down a flight of stairs.
Her friend heard her screams and proceeded to her aid. She managed to remove the dogs off the frantic woman and get her to safety.
The woman was stabilised on scene before being expedited to hospital by ambulance.
