Pedestrian Fatality In Collision: Cornubia - KZN

A 44-year-old man from Cornubia Flats in Cornubia - KZN was fatally injured after being struck by a black Jetour Dashing SUV on the R102 near Cornubia - KZN yesterday (Saturday) afternoon.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) responded to the scene at 19:47 after a passing motorist reported the incident. Upon arrival, Officers found the victim’s lifeless body on the side of the road. Three of his friends were present.
They stated that they had been consuming alcohol together and were returning from an ATM where they had withdrawn money to buy more alcohol. On their return, the victim was hit by the SUV. The driver initially left the scene but later returned. He claimed he proceeded to report the incident to the Police.
The driver was not injured.
