?The scene was one of intense impact, involving three light motor vehicles. Paramedics were immediately confronted with a difficult and complex scenario, necessitating rapid triage and immediate patient stabilization amidst the wreckage.
?A total of three patients were treated on the scene.
?One patient sustained serious injuries, including suspected multiple bone fractures, requiring urgent and specialised Advanced Life Support intervention.
?Two additional patients sustained minor injuries, consisting primarily of cuts and lacerations. They were treated for their wounds and remained in a stable condition.
?KwaZulu Private Ambulance paramedics successfuy treatment all three patients and were transported them to a local medical facility for definitive and further specialised care.
?The collision caused immediate and significant disruption to traffic flow on the P200. Authorities immediately implemented robust scene management, which resulted in the blockage of one lane on the busy roadway, severely impacting commuters and causing substantial delays in both directions.
?The precise cause of the collision remains under official investigation. Members of the South African Police Service were present on the scene and have initiated an inquiry into the exact circumstances leading to this severe crash.
