Ten killed in a horrific crash on the N8 between Botshabelo & Bloemfontein when a bus and a truck collided

A serious collision between a truck and a bus occurred earlier today, approximately 5 km from Mandela View, on the route between Bloemfontein and Botshabelo. The impact prompted a full emergency response, with paramedics, fire services, and law-enforcement officials attending to the scene.

A total of 41 people were affected in the crash. Emergency services confirmed that six individuals suffered severe and critical injuries and were taken to Pelonomi Trauma Unit. Five patients with moderate injuries were transported to Botshabelo hospital and Busamed. Nineteen people sustained minor injuries and were transported to Botshabelo Hospital for further care.

Tragically, ten people sustained fatal injuries and were declared deceased on the scene. One patient assessed by responders chose not to be transported to hospital.

Traffic remains heavily affected in the area, and motorists are urged to proceed with caution and follow the instructions of officials on scene.
