Illegal firearms and drugs confiscated in Etafuleni, Inanda

In the early hours of Thursday, 22 January 2026, an intelligence-driven operation conducted in the Inanda area yielded positive results in the fight against illegal firearms and drugs.
Acting on verified intelligence, members proceeded to a homestead in Etafuleni, Inanda. Upon arrival, police identified themselves and conducted a lawful search. The operation resulted in the recovery of an illegal 9mm firearm with live ammunition, as well as suspected drugs, including substances believed to be crack cocaine and heroin.
Two suspects were arrested and detained at Inanda SAPS. Further investigations are underway, and the suspects will be linked to serious crimes, including murder cases in the area.
This operation reflects the continued commitment of the Durban Metro Police Service, working with key partners, to disrupt criminal networks and enhance community safety.
