Suspects arrested in possession of illegal firearms

While conducting stop and search operations in Freedom Park, members of SAPS and Gauteng Traffic Wardens from Eldorado Park arrested one male suspect who was found in possession of a 9mm pistol and live ammunition.
Upon questioning, the suspect admitted that he does not have a valid firearm licence and further revealed that he allegedly purchased the firearm from an unknown male individual on the street.
In a separate operation, a 51-year-old suspect was apprehended for possession of an unlicensed firearm following a tip-off received from a community member.
