
At approximately 17:00, information was received from a Witbank detective regarding suspects allegedly travelling in a stolen white Toyota Fortuner with Gauteng registration plates. The vehicle was reportedly en route from Pretoria to Mozambique via Vosman.
A multidisciplinary team comprising Witbank Detectives (custodians of the information), the Middelburg Flying Squad, the Nkangala District Anti-Hijacking Team, Vosman Crime Prevention members, and MP Tracker Connect operationalised the information.
The vehicle was successfully intercepted on the N4 on-ramp from Vosman, with three occupants inside.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the vehicle had been fitted with different identification particulars. The vehicle was confiscated for further investigation, and the three occupants were arrested and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
On Tuesday, 10 February 2026, the Vehicle Crime Investigation Unit (VCIU) was summoned to examine the vehicle. It was subsequently confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen in a Mooinooi case in the North West Province.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Vosman Magistrate’s Court today, 11 February 2026, facing charges related to possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
