On Wednesday morning at approximately 11h37, our Centurion crew responded to a shooting incident on Old Johannesburg Road near Brakfontein Road in Laudium, Centurion.
Upon arrival, it was established that an alleged robbery suspect had been fatally shot and two others seriously wounded during an intense shootout between the alleged suspects and security officials. A fourth suspect was arrested on scene and remains in police custody.
One suspect was declared deceased at the scene. The two other injured suspects were treated by emergency medical personnel and transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet confirmed. The South African Police Service has opened an investigation.
