One dead in building collapse in Booysens

One person was declared dead and another sustained moderate injuries when part of a building collapsed in Ophirton, Booysens earlier today.

ER24 paramedics, and other services including Fire and Rescue and provincial paramedics arrived on scene and found that one person was trapped under rubble.

He was assessed and if was found that he had succumbed to his injuries. He was declared dead.

Another person was assessed and found to have sustained moderate injuries. He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.

The exact cause of the incident is unknown. Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
