Millions in damages after fire at warehouse in Bloemfontein CBD

08 May 2016 | From Arrive Alive

Damage running into millions of rands was sufferred by the owner of this six story warehouse in the Bloemfontein CBD after it caught fire in the early hours of this morning, completely destroying the building and everything stored there.

Neighbouring flats were quickly evacuated by emergency workers as a precaution.

Firefighters battled for hours to get the blaze under control and to prevent the fire spreading to neighbouring buildings.

They are still on the scene and it is expected that they will still be for some time, continuing with damping down operations.

The cause of the fire will be investigated by local authorities as well as the SAPS.
