Six suspects arrested for business robbery, Embalenhle

Mpumalanga: Seven suspects, six males aged between 16 and 32, as well as a 22-year-old female, were arrested on Thursday afternoon, 20 April 2017 at Embalenhle, near Secunda. The arrests came about after police intensified their investigations following a string of business robberies in the area. During the arrests three firearms, seven live rounds of ammunition, airtime and cash were confiscated.

All six male suspects have been charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition as well as possession of suspected stolen property while the woman was charged with possession of suspected stolen property.

The suspects are being profiled to establish if the suspects could be linked to other crimes in the area while looking at the possibility of more suspects that still need to be arrested.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Evander Magistrate's Court soon.
