Body of man found lying in veld, Walkerville

The body of a man was found lying in a veld off the R82 in Walkerville this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene at approximately 12h00 after a member of public had spotted the body.

Upon arrival, paramedics found the body of a man lying in the veld some distance off the road. Unfortunately, it was evident that the man had been dead for some time. Nothing could be done for the man and he was declared dead on the scene.

It is believed that the body was discovered by a member of the community who had been walking through the veld.

The details this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
