Effective visible policing with multi-disciplinary roadblock in Uitenhage

28 July 2017 | From Arrive Alive

In line with our Back to Basics approach to policing and in order to effectively prevent and combat crime, members from the South African Police Service in the Uitenhage Cluster ensured high visibility on the R334 on Thursday, 27 July 2017, by conducting an integrated roadblock.

A total of 182 vehicles were stopped and searched and 23 traffic fines to the value of R11 500-00 were issued. One R1000 fine was also issued for not complying with the Animal Identification Act in terms of the branding of an animal.

Colonel Johan Nolte, the SAPS operational commander, said that more of these roadblocks will be conducted on a more regular basis in the future, to ensure that perpetrators are brought to book and that the community is and feel save. #PoliceVisibility #Back2Basics
