Bakkie and bike collide leaving man seriously injured in Boksburg

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was left seriously injured this morning when his motorcycle crashed into the side of a bakkie on the Great North Road in Boksburg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene to find the motorbike lying on the side of the road while the bakkie was in the middle of the road. The biker was found seated on the pavement a few metres away from his biker.
Paramedics assessed the man and found that he had sustained several serious injuries and was in a critical condition.
Treatment and advanced life support interventions was immediately initiated in an effort to stabilize his vital signs. Once treated, the man was transported to Tambo Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the bakkie was assessed and found to have escaped injury.
The exact cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
