One man was killed and three others injured this morning following a fire at a depot in Brackenfell, Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics and Metro, along with other services, arrived on the scene to find the Fire Services battling the blaze that had broken out in the one area of the depot.
Fortunately, the depot had already been evacuated and the workers were now found in the parking lot.
Upon closer inspection, paramedics found the body of a man lying inside the depot. Unfortunately, he had already succumbed to his numerous injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.
Three other patients were found lying in the parking lot. One man was found with serious burn wound to his head leaving him in a critical condition while another man and woman had sustained moderate burn wounds.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the patients were transported to a nearby private hospital for urgent care.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
