A 3-year-old hospitalised after nonfatal drowning in Carletonville

A 3-year-old boy was hospitalised following a nonfatal drowning incident in Carletonville this afternoon.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly before 14H00 where they found the boy lying next to a swimming pool.

It is understood that the boy was pulled from the pool by bystanders, who had noticed him floating in the pool. The bystanders immediately initiated CPR.

Paramedics took over the assessment and treatment before the boy was transported to a hospital for further stabilisation. From there he was airlifted by the ER24 Oneplan medical helicopter to another hospital for further medical care.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known.
