Two people dead after a truck ploughs into pedestrians on the P197-3, Umkomaas

At 14H42 Tuesday morning, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a serious collision on the P197-3, Umkomaas.
Upon arrival of the Netcare 911 Paramedic, multiple ambulances personal were already in attendance treating the injured.
Reports from the scene allege that the driver of a heavy motor vehicle lost control crashing into pedestrians on the side of the road before coming to a stop on an embankment.
Two people unfortunately died, 1 patient sustained serious injuries, two patients sustained moderate injuries and two other patients declined ambulance transportation.
The injured were treated on scene by the various emergency personnel on scene and transported by private ambulance to a hospital for further assessment and care.
All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate.
