Two killed in a helicopter crash in Midrand

Two people have been killed following a helicopter crash in Midrand this evening.
When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after 17h00, they found that the fire department had already extinguished the fire that had erupted from the helicopter. The helicopter crashed onto the road and was found on its side. Upon further assessment, paramedics found that two people had unfortunately succumbed to their injuries and was declared dead at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but authorities were on the scene for further investigations. The Civil Aviation Authority will be conducting further investigations.
