A woman sustained a stab wound to the leg following an alleged robbery on the N12 close to the Snake offramp in Benoni this morning.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at approximately 11h00, they found the woman standing behind her vehicle with the SAPS in attendance. Upon further assessment, paramedics found that she had sustained moderate injuries. She was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital for further medical care.

It is understood that the woman stopped next to the road to fix her vehicle’s wipers when she was attacked. Fortunately, an off duty policeman saw the scene unfold and came to her aid.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident were not known to our paramedics, but local authorities were on the scene for further investigation.
