The Road Traffic Infringement Agency (RTIA) informs the motorists and general public of the AARTO Friday community activation programme which will take place in Mbombela, next to iLanga Mall, on Friday 19 March 2021 at 09:00. The RTIA has adopted the AARTO Friday campaign to take AARTO services closer to the road user community.
The RTIA, in partnership with City of Mbombela, takes this opportunity to invite members of the public to be part of the AARTO Friday so as to take advantage of the various AARTO service offerings that will be rendered on the day. All motorists visiting the AARTO Mobile Offices will be required to take extra precautions during this difficult time of Covid-19, by adhering to social distancing protocols, make use of face masks and sanitise hands to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
At the AARTO Friday event, the road users will be assisted to check their AARTO infringement status, and are advised on how to resolve their infringements by selecting from the available legislated elective options. AARTO will be implemented throughout South Africa as from 01 July 2021.
Prior to kick-starting the intended AARTO National Rollout, the Agency is expected not only to prepare the public for such country-wide implementation through various awareness programmes but also to have its operational structures and related systems in place to sustain such service delivery. All such work is at an advanced stage for seamless implementation across the country.
The Agency launched the AARTO Service Outlet in Mbombela last year on the 18th December 2020. On the 18th January 2021, the outlet started operating with more motorist visiting the outlet in Mbombela. The Mbombela AARTO Services Outlet is the first to be launched and be fully operational outside Gauteng. All motorists in the Mbombela jurisdiction area are encouraged to visit the outlet. The AARTO Services Outlet is stationed at Mbombela Licensing Services at Suikerreit Street, Nelspruit Industrial.
