Just after 2:15 p.m. this afternoon, ALS paramedics responded to yet another shooting incident on Che Guevara Road, which is the Old Moore Road, just after Gale Street, before Sidney Road, in the Berea area of Durban.

Initial reports were that SAPS and suspects had had a shootout, and ALS paramedics arrived together with the EMRS Paramedics.

Paramedics found that two men, believed to be suspects, had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their body. They were assessed on scene. One male was confirmed deceased due to the injurirs he had sustained, and another male sustained multiple gunshot wounds and is in critical condition.

He has been stabilised on scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before he will be taken through to another hospital for the urgent care that he requires.

The roadway is closed and will be closed for quite some time, so I would advise motorists to avoid this area at all costs. This is  Che Guevara Road, which is the Old Moore Road, just after Gale Street, going down towards the Southern Freeway.

SAPS is in attendance. The area is cornered off and they will be investigating further.
