KIMBERLEY - The weekly multi-disciplinary high-density operation Shanela 2 continues to combat crime and maintain law and order in all five districts in the Northern Cape.

Compliance inspections were conducted in all five districts, during which, several second hand dealers, scrap yards, liquor outlets, formal and informal businesses were visited, and operating documents were checked for compliance.

A total of 211 suspects were arrested for various crimes including, murder and attempted murder, rape, assault, burglary, illegal possession of firearms, malicious damage to property, illegal dealing in liquor, robbery, driving under the influence of alcohol, dealing in and possession of drugs, stock theft, and contravention of Immigration Laws.
