Three suspects arrested by members of the TRT Mpumalanga operating under the Operation Lockdown III in WesBank

In less than two hours, criminal behaviour has resulted in the arrest of three suspects by members of the TRT Mpumalanga operating under the Operation Lockdown III in WesBank .
The members were patrolling in the area on Sunday, 15 March 2026 at approximately 16:10 when they arrested a 20-year-old male suspect in Martinus van Schalkwyk Street for possession of prohibited firearm and discharge of firearm in public.
In a separate incident, the members received information at around 18:05 about a male shooting in Ouplaas Street in WesBank. When they followed up on that, they found and arrested a 19-year-old male suspect for possession of imitation firearm and another 20-year-old male was arrested in the same incident for Crimen Injuria, intimidation and interfering with police duties.
The three suspects will appear at Blue Downs Magistrate’s Court once they have been charged.
