High-speed single vehicle accident with entrapment on the N1.

21 April 2026 | From Arrive Alive

The DFW Paarl control last night received a request for assistance with a high-speed single-vehicle accident with entrapment on the N1.

In minutes, 3 DFW response teams were en route to find Provincial traffic officers on the scene with a 40-year-old male still in the destroyed vehicle, which rolled several times and lost its engine in the process.

Miraculously, given the impact,  the man survived and had injuries on his head and shoulder. DFW team members requested via DFW control for EMS Metro to assist and also to get an EMS Ambulance on site.

ER-24 ambulance services also received the request and arrived simultaneously.

In a joint effort by all first responders, the patient was removed from the vehicle and on his way to the hospital.

Provincial Traffic Services will investigate the happenings.

We thank all responders for their efforts.
