Vehicle recovered after a hijacking that occurred in the Sawfish area of Newlands East

A black VW Polo GTI was successfully recovered by members of KZN VIP, in conjunction with tracking agents and other emergency stakeholders, following a hijacking that occurred in the Sawfish area of Newlands East on Wednesday morning.

It is believed that four armed suspects confronted the victim as she was leaving her premises before hijacking her and fleeing with the vehicle. Fortunately, the victim was not physically injured during the ordeal, although she remains understandably traumatized by the incident.

Through coordinated efforts and rapid information sharing between KZN VIP, tracking agents, and other role players, the vehicle was traced and recovered in the Ntuzuma area of Durban. Upon recovery, the vehicle was found partially stripped and had sustained extensive damage.

No arrests have been made at this stage, and investigations into the incident remain ongoing.

KZN VIP would like to extend its appreciation to all stakeholders involved for their swift response, teamwork, and commitment in ensuring the successful recovery of the vehicle.
