Poor visibility blamed for a collision at the intersection of Herwood Drive and Millennium Way in Umhlanga

Poor visibility has once again been cited as a contributing factor following another collision at the intersection of Herwood Drive and Millennium Way in Umhlanga this past week.

At least two people sustained moderate injuries after two vehicles collided on Friday evening. KZN VIP Medics, together with security partners and Metro Police, responded to the scene and found both vehicles extensively damaged.

The injured patients were assessed, treated, and stabilized on scene by KZN VIP medics before being transported to a nearby medical facility for further medical assessment and treatment.

Motorists at the scene have raised concerns regarding ongoing roadworks in the area, alleging that reduced visibility and changes to the roadway layout have made navigating the intersection particularly difficult at night.

The roadway was temporarily closed while emergency services worked together to treat the injured, clear the scene, and ensure the safety of other road users.

The exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain unknown and are subject to further investigation.
