Cross-Border Road Transport Act – Fee Adjustment 

We would like to inform you that the Cross-Border Road Transport Fee Adjustments, 2025 were published on 28 February 2025 (GG 52198). 

Limpopo Province – Registration and licensing fees 2025/2026

National Road Traffic Act (93/1996): Limpopo Provincial Government: Department of Transport & Community Safety. 

We would like to inform you that the Registration and Licensing Fees 2025/2026 were published on 12 March 2025 (GG 52262).

Discussion Topics:

The NRT Amendment Act, 8 of 2024 and draft Regulations: 

Alta Swanepoel will provide an update on the latest developments on among many topics by the amendment, the new number plate legislation, driving licence amendments, driving schools and instructors. The provisions in the Amendment Act on microdots, abnormal loads, overloading legislation, consignors and consignees, the transport of dangerous goods and other general provisions will also be presented.

The NLT Amendment Act, 23 of 2023 and draft Regulations: 

The Amendment Act was signed by the President in 2024, and several sets of draft regulations have been published for comment and are due for implementation in 2025. The following provisions are of interest and will be discussed in detail:

•      Latest on e-hailing services legislation
•      Legislation on staff services
•      Non-motorised transport
•      Other general amendments

AARTO:

A representative of the Road Traffic Infringement Agency will explain the roles and responsibilities of the Agency and the issuing authorities in the AARTO process.

We will also address the latest developments on the AARTO Act, 1998 and its amendments, draft Regulations, problems with the service of notices and issues with criminal procedure process, roadblocks, etc. 

Latest developments in Regional Road Transport legislation:
The Tripartite Model Laws are in the process of being introduced in some of the member countries and we will provide you with the latest developments on the TTTFP that covers the following model laws:
•   Road Traffic Model Law
•   Transgressions Model Law
•   Cross-border Transport Model Law
•   Vehicle Load Management Law
•   Dangerous Goods Transport

Economic Regulation of Transport Ac, 6 of 2024:

A short summary on the Economic Regulation of Transport Act that is now in force will conclude the programme for the day.

The registration fee for the workshop is (VAT included):
