More than 50 injured when bus overturned on the N2 in Amanzimtoti, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

More than fifty school children and at least eight school teachers have been injured after their bus overturned on the N2 in Amanzimtoti, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

The exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.

Reports from the scene indicate that two people are in a critical condition while the rest sustained serious to minor injuries.

Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside various emergency services on scene to stabilise the injured.

All injured have been transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.

The road was closed for some time and traffic was affected.

This accident happened this evening at about 18h30.

 

Note: This is the second bus to overturn ferrying school children in Kwa-Zulu Natal today.
