ALS Paramedics responded to a house fire in Eltham Place in the Malvern, West of Durban.
Paramedics arrived on the scene to find the Ethekweni Fire Department already tackling the blaze. The fire was in both the house and the garage.
It was reported that one person was believed to be in the house.
Once given the all-clear from the Fire Department, ALS Paramedics assessed a male believed to be in his late sixties or seventies and found the man to have sustained fatal injuries.
Unfortunately, there was nothing Paramedics could do for him and he was declared deceased on the scene.
At this stage the cause of the fire is not yet known however SAPS and Fire Department will be investigating further.
