Public Alert: Spiking incidents reported on Durban N2 Freeway

A nurse has made contact with Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) reporting that a suspicious motor vehicle had followed her on the N2 Freeway in Durban - KZN shortly after her vehicle suffered damages to two tyres.

According to the woman, she was travelling between Spaghetti Junction and Westwood Mall on Saturday evening (19:30) when she ran over metal believed to have been place deliberately on the road. One tyre was extensively damaged and the other was found to have minor damages. A Toyota Corolla then pulled up behind and a loud noise was heard.

The woman and her family continued to drive with the damaged tyre to a safe location until the vehicle that was following fled.

The public is warned to be in high alert as this modus operandi was previously used by hijackers.
