A 19-year-old male was killed by a train in Frasers - KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene between Tongaat and Ballito - KZN at approximately 13:39.
On arrival, Reaction Officers found the male lying between the North and South bound train lines. He sustained life0threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased by RUSA Paramedics.
The Locomotive Engineer informed Reaction Officers that the deceased was walking on the tracks. He sounded the horn, but the male turned around and raised his hands in the air.
The train was unable to stop in time and ran over him. It could not be confirmed if he was suffering from mental health issues or if he intended on committing suicide.
The teenager’s identity was confirmed by his family who were on scene.
