Three people were injured after a bakkie overturned and landed in a river in Canelands - KZN.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called out to the scene at approximately 22:31.
On arrival, Reaction Officers discovered a white Ford Bantam lying on its roof in a river.
It was established that six people were travelling in the bakkie at the time of the incident, but the driver and two passengers fled following the accident.
The driver was suspected of operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
The injured sustained minor injuries and were transported privately to a medical facility.
