Midlands EMS Howick crews, along with the Search and Rescue Unit, were dispatched to the Cedara offramp following reports of a collision.
Upon arrival, responders found one person trapped in the vehicle, requiring specialized rescue equipment for extrication.
The patient sustained critical injuries and received advanced life support treatment.
Two minors sustained moderate injuries.
All patients were treated on scene before being transported to a nearby specialist hospital for further medical care.
Authorities were in attendance.
