At approximately 20h55 on Saturday, PT Tactical Unit 4 observed a vehicle ablaze on the M1 westbound before Bayview.
PT Ambulance Service was immediately dispatched. Upon arrival, medics observed a Toyota Etios engulfed in flames. Luckily the only occupant of the vehicle managed to self extricate amidst the fire and refused hospital treatment.
The Etekwini Fire Department personnel were dispatched and the fire was contained and extinguished.
